Local up-scale residential construction typically
includes underground parking and servants' quarters. Adjacent
to San Diego Bay, these projects require groundwater dewatering
until the waterproof foundation is completed. This residential
project included an underground apartment and parking for six
vehicles.
JNE obtained the NPDES permit for discharge to San Diego Bay.
The project discharged about 10,000 gallons/day for six months.
Monitoring included weekly field measurements and water sampling
to ensure compliance with discharge requirements. Monthly monitoring
reports were submitted to the Regional Water Quality Control Board.
